Fall has arrived! It is time to enjoy the cooler weather and the changing scenery. Check out all the fun fall activities in and around the Ann Arbor area for 2012.
Cider Mills/Orchards: Apples, doughnuts, and fresh cider all come to mind when you think about fall. The Dexter Cider Mill is the oldest continuously run cider mill in Michigan, offering fresh cider from a variety of handpicked apples. If you’d like to pick your own apples, visit Wiard’s Orchards & Country Fair in Ypsilanti.While you are there, head to the pumpkin patch and get a head start on your pumpkin art!
Corn Mazes: Enjoy the trails of a corn maze with your kids or friends at Coleman’s Farm and Corn Maze in Saline, Wiard’s Orchards & Country Fair, Talladay Farms in Milan, or the Blast Corn Maze in Dexter. Make sure you don’t make a wrong turn, otherwise it may take a while to get out. Go after dark to make the challenge a little more exciting.
Haunted Houses: If you like to be spooked on Halloween, check out some of the Ann Arbor Area haunted houses for a real scare. There are 6 haunted attractions at Wiard’s Night Terrors. There’s also the Terrorfied Forest and Manor in Pickney and the Brandywine Cemetery in Ann Arbor. If you’re up for a scary challenge, Talladay Farms and Wiard’s Night Terrors have haunted corn mazes too!
Halloween: Take the kids trick-or-treating around Ann Arbor from 5pm-8pm on Halloween night, or head over to Boo Bash at the Briarwood Mall on October 27th for some early inside trick-or-treating (and shopping) at participating stores.
Special Fall Events: Everyone is celebrating the arrival of fall. On October 7th, Harvest Time at the Rentschler Farm Museum in Saline is taking place. Check out the museum, take a wagon ride, and do some shopping. The Holiday Inn near the University of Michigan is having a Halloween Blues Bash the weekend of October 26th, with overnight specials if you’d like to make a night out of it. The Halloween time classic movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be playing at the State Theater on October 26th and 27th.
